Continuing...

So, it is the sixth day of the masters last summer. Ahhh... How much I have to do!

My stress comes in spurts. Last night it hit me. I felt like I suddenly had so much to do, and I felt like i was doing a terrible job at it all. So, my inclination was to curl up on the couch and mope. Today will be better.

For Best Results

The tag of my red windbreaker says, "For best results: Wear with another artocle of Old Navy clothing."

It is no wonder I wear so much Old Navy. Hee, hee, hee...

Classes Have Begun

The final round of classes for my Master's progam began this week. Although I am alotted all day every day to work on my thesis, things have been rather slow moving thus far. I am finding that I am much less organized than I thought, however I am not stressed yet. We'll see how long this continues.

Residence Life

So, this was my foruth year being an RA. I enjoyed the position the first two years, and even into the third year, however this fourth year left quite a bit to be desired. Management seems to get worse by the year, and I can hardly stand the inept and severely unqualified peons the professional staff hires. But that is not why I am blogging about Residence Life.

Last year I missed out on all the fun events planned by close friends and family who had driven in to see me graduate. It sucked to not be able to be a part of something that was planned specifically in celebration of your accomplishments. I had to decline the parties and dinners to clean the dormatory building.

This year, when walking for a Masters, (and let me remind how good I look in a hood), I decided I was not going to miss out, again, on the celebration of my graduation, or Bill's for that matter. So, I moved out a day early and chose not to check out two reseidents and vaccuum the RA office. What a sad and unprofessional E-mail I got from Residence Life...but really, what else ws I expecting???

It's Officially Official!!!

This afternoon I went to check my mail to see if my long awaited (ok, only five days), package of clothing I had ordered online had arrived. Although the package was not to be found, (despite what the UPS tracking service stated online), I did find a letter from the Caldwell School District.

Any letter that starts with the word "Congratulations!" is going to make my day. Yes, you have guessed it, I have received my official letter from the school district stating my formal employment as a 5th grade teacher for the academic school year of 05-06. Even better, was the inclusion of the intial copy of my contract, which I get to promptly sign and return to the district office.

Although having known about my recieving the 5th grade position at Lewis and Clark Elementary for nearly a month and a half, tomorrow when I send in my signed contract, it will be officially official!

What?! Insufficiant Funds?!!?

So, last night, at about 10:30 I checked one of my banking accounts online, as I do almost everyday. To my surprize, I had over 400 negative dollars in my account! I nknow that sometimes I impulse buy on some items, but I knew there wa no way that I could spend over $400 in one weekend.

Well, as it turns out, one of my paychecks from the school district was removed from my account. When I called the 800 number, the service person offered no explanation as to of why, so bright and early this morning I maqrched politely into the district office to get things figured out. The computers inh the distric office showed the check as clearing, but where was my money!? Apparently, and unfortunately, there was an error on the bank's part, and my money, and all fines due to insufficiant funds for the last few days will be returned to me promptly. Patiently waiting...

Graduation

Wow! The time has finally come! Bill and I graduated today! What a fantastic day. Although our senior speaker left quite a bit to be desired, our guest speaker, Teresa Heinz Kerry spoke about creating and taking advantage of the possibiities our college education will bring to each of us. The best part about the ceremony, of course, was hearing your name and walking across the stage to reciev that long awaited deploma. I, however, (along with the other Masters students), got a piece of cardboard instead of a pruple leather case. We will still be working until July 13th. Our robes made up for it, though. The sleeves are made differently on a Masters gown, and we get to wear a hood. Light blue velvet for an education degree. It was a special day, and wonderful to celebrate with close friends and family.

Well, as for the next week...I haven't decided yet if I was to work on my thesis or take a week off. I am still student teaching, so maybe I will just stay in the groove and continue working. I'll let you know as I find out more.

I Hate Moving

The subject is true. I hate moving. I hate trying to organize your things into boxes to make unpacking easier, since unpacking is never easy, and no amount of organization will move the process along faster.

School is going well. I graduate this Saturday, and am hoping for loads and loads of gifts to honor my Master's degree. J/K.
